Book Summary of The Krishna Key
Five thousand years ago, there came to earth a magical being called Krishna, who brought about innumerable miracles for the good of mankind. Humanity despaired of its fate if the Blue God were to die but was reassured that he would return in a fresh avatar when needed in the eventual Dark Age—the Kaliyug. In modern times, a poor little rich boy grows up believing that he is that final avatar. Only, he is a serial killer.

About The Author Ashwin Sanghi :
Ashwin Sanghi is one of the well known writers in the Indian literary scene, and an author of thriller fiction. He shot to fame through his first release, The Rozabal Line. His books are characterized by extensive research, and they're fast paced political or historical thrillers.

Krishna Key Book Review - 1 :
I am still living in the novel so I don't know what I am writing. Actually I finished it in a single sitting. To me it is a Indianized Dan Brown novel. A journey with saini & Radhika. A complete marvel rather "work of art" with almost all good things that a good novel must have. Coherently written, full of facts and hypothesis a nice balance between mythology and reality(will notice it from very first page). Some interesting inputs on India's pride Taj Mahal, Somnath and finally the crown jewel of the novel(I mean it in literal sense) "The most precious and powerful possession of Lord Krishna" and it's secrets.Makes it a must read for all Indian thriller lovers. A potential Best seller no doubt about it and finally tons of thanks to Mr Sanghi for presenting such a marvel - by Indranil Pal.

Krishna Key Book Review - 2 :
Cleary a masterpiece! I have read all the 3 books written by the author and I have to say with each book I am deeply amazed with the extent of hardwork/research/technical brilliance that Mr Sanghi has put into while penning down this book. I would personally rate this book in one of the top ten books I have read in my lifetime! Great work Mr Sanghi & team! - by Aravind Rajagopalan

Krishna Key Book Review - 3 :
Ashwin Sanghi is back and with a bang this time. After an awesomely written Chanakya's Chant, here comes another yet so different novel for the readers interested in thriller, mythology category. The book is a real page turner and you cannot resist to complete it in one read. The characters are very well portrayed. I recommend this book to all the readers who have slight interest in history/thriller/mythology and others who really want to have a good interesting read from a very well known emerging author. Kudos to Ashwin. - by Parth Sharma

The TIPPING POINT Book Review

The TIPPING POINT - How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference

The subtitle of the books tells you what this book is all about. Many a times we think that some great things should happen to become great or to make your business successful. But, Malcolm Gladwell found some little things which can a big difference and makes us think twice.

My Presumption was Wrong : When I picked up this book I thought this is one more personality development book which teaches us about success principles and time management etc. However, I had to raise my eyebrows when I kept reading through the chapters. Every single chapter is practical, up to the point and highly implementable. This is not a book which has to flipped and forget later. If you are keen on understanding the people's behavior and organizations (read it as products and processes) success, then you would surely get wonderful information from this book.

The TIPPING POINT Book Summary :

Few things I learnt from 'The Tipping Point' Book :

1. Tipping Point - Law of Few ~ Mavens, Connectors and Salesmen : Every successful business across the world reached their top positions due to customer satisfaction and through word of mouth. Only advertisements cannot take any company for long term success. The point here is how come many companies with good quality products and customer satisfaction couldn't get such word by mouth publicity? Malcolm takes some examples in the history of the companies who were almost in a stage of vanishing from market, yet picked up due to word of mouth publicity and became million dollar firms later. There are 3 kinds of special people in every society - Mavens, Connectors and Salesmen. We all know who salesmen are. But who are Mavens and Connectors? What are the similarities and differences of these two group of people? Can they really make an average company to million dollar one through their referral talks?

2. Tipping Point - Advertisements and Information : The information age has created a stickiness problem. There is hell lot of information available in Internet and people surrounding us. But how much of the information we are able to remember and apply in our real life to make our careers or businesses successful ? How many advertisements we remember and how much of each ad contributes in our monthly purchases?

3. Tipping Point - Racism and Friendship : Proximity overcomes Similarity. As per history, in general, people chose friends of similar age and race. But if the friend lived down the hall, the age and race became a less important. People become friends due to similar attitudes, but becomes close friends due to similar activities. We actually don't seek out friends, in other words. We associate with people who occupy the same small, physical spaces that we do.

4. Tipping Point - Six Degrees of Separation : Six degrees of separation doesn't mean that everyone is linked to everyone else in just six steps. It means that a very small number of people are linked to everyone else in a few steps, and the rest of us are linked to the world through those special few. But how? Who are those very small number of special people and what makes them so special? Malcolm explains us on how to leverage the connections of these people to prosper your career or business using the principle of Six Degrees of Separation.

5. Tipping Point - Rule of 150 : This is an amazing rule. The number 150 plays an amazing role in every organization, group, church or community. This number led to stupendous success in many places. I won't reveal the story behind it completely here as it would not be fair to open out the things of this masterpiece invention. Read the complete chapter yourself from the book.

Tipping Point Book Final Review :
There are minimum 20 more points which are very helpful and eye openers for people who seek huge success like us. I cannot discuss every single point in one article. Truly informative. Starts slowly. Soon fascinates the reader. Gladwell is articulate, intelligent and thought provoking author. Provides profoundly suggestive arguments about little understood phenomenon - the book makes you see the world in a different way.

Tipping Point Book Rating : My personal rating for the book is 4.5 out of 5. Highly recommended for businessmen, entrepreneurs, people in media or advertising fields, MBA students and people who seek great success in their careers. Not recommended for romantic novels lovers or people who don't want to learn new fascinating things in the social world.

First You Plz by Nisha B. Thakur - Book Review

A sweet, light, easy, fun and humorous read!!
Story line - First You Plz is an enjoyable tale of immature girl, Avanti. She is in love with Aakash. It is a story of her struggle as she deals with worries of first love.  It is a tale of her desire that she wants him to say those three magical words to her first. Although, he hasn't shown much interest in her. Still in her heart she keeps on praying, first you plz. She has two great friends; Meenakshi and Rachana who loves Avanti dearly and are there to support you every time. And this time they are always present to handle her immaturity as she deals with anxieties of her first love.

Review - The book is for readers who love to read light stuff. It is easy, light and humorous read. The first love encounter of Avanti is very relatable. Although the setting of novel is college love, which many would not find new but many would find relatable as first love and college, might trigger several memories in readers heart.  Also, the first love and its anxieties are worth reading. I liked the way an immature girl is been portrayed by the author, her behavior and her assumptions makes the whole book funny, hilarious and worth a read. I also liked the way author explores the female friendship bond between Avanti, Meenakshi and Rachana.

Overall a good, light and fun read. First You Plz is about love, first love, friendship, female friends bonding and an immature girl’s story.

Direct From Dell Book Review

I am a senior software designer. I am associated with the IT industry for quite some time and have lot of interest in business world. So, it is not a surprise that I was very keen to buy, read and follow the principles from the autobiography of Michael Dell - "Direct From Dell".

Michael Dell is a visionary. Dell understood the real meaning of business and industry nature at very early age. He formed the direct selling business of computers with his name at the age of 19 with $1000 investment. Irrespective of some pitfalls and some strategic failures, DELL is surely one of the top most successful companies in the entire world business history. Michael explains the reasons behind the company's success and how he dealt with some strategic failures occurred in the amazing journey of building an industry powerhouse. His childhood adventures, mistakes done, valuable lessons learnt are also discussed in this book.

Lessons Learnt from the book : Below are the lessons I personally learnt from this book. If you are aspiring to become a successful entrepreneur, I would recommend you to give more focus on these.
1. It's not the size that matters. It's effectiveness
2. Focus is a key to success, and it's crucial to weigh opportunity against complexity while staying vigilant in watching for new ideas
3. Strength used to excess, can become weakness
4. Focus on customers, not competition
5. Dell was built on the premise of under promise and over deliver
6. Doing things right the first time
7. Look at learning as necessity, not luxury

Direct From Dell Book Review : I personally learnt a lot of things from the legend of the industry, how he deals with lot of challenges in a simple way. The writing and explanation is very simple without any confusions. He is straight and to the point. The importance Dell gives to innovation, failures are worth underlining and remembering for the whole life. Dell is to the computer industry what Domino's is to pizza delivery: fast, dependable and ubiquitous. The details shared by Dell on why he opted for direct sales model, inventory management, quality and customer service are of great use for the present entrepreneurs.

"Dell is perhaps the purest example of the efficiencies made possible by information technology" - New York Times

My Rating : I would give 4.75/5 for this book. A must read for someone who wants to become successful in business arena.

The Last Song Of Dusk - Book Review

The Last Song Of Dusk by Siddharth Shanghvi - Book Review

A tale of immense sacrifices, dangerous desires and exquisite friendships.

The LastSong of Dusk brings back to us, the youth of Salman Rushdie with a hint of D H Lawrence to him. Siddharth Dhanwant Sanghvi has a refreshing voice and a brilliant sense of romance. His story telling is affluent and the flow of plot is remarkable.

A welcome product coming from a young Indian writer, Sanghvi is a voice worth reckoning. He may not be of the same strata as Adiga and Nair but certainly falls in place along with Kiran Desai and Chitra Banerjee. His imagination is vivid in a story-line mostly limited.

The touch of Supernatural and the hint of sensual delights are tastes you may like to indulge yourself in. The impact to be precise is as much as Chandra’s “Love and Longing in Bombay”, or in that case Jha’s  “If you are afraid of heights” or perhaps even more powerful.

The story that transcends through an elongated time-line and that had to be restricted to Literary Sanity carries itself well. The characters are dynamic and multi-dimensional making them more flesh and blood and believable. What stands out is the neatness with which the author depicts even the minuet most of details.

The author is simply eloquent  and brilliant in his writing style. He deservedly ranks among the best Indian writers like Vikram Seth, Nirad Chaudhuri.. Wish he'd bring out more and save us from the current best-selling trash.

About Author Siddharth Dhanvant Shanghvi :

Siddharth Dhanvant Shanghvi’s first novel, The Last Song of Dusk is translated into 12 languages. The book won the Premio Grinzane Cavour (Italy), the Betty Trask Award (UK);  and was also nominated for the IMPAC Prize. Shanghvi has been voted as Hindustan Times: 10 Most Creative Men, Times of India’s 10 Global Indians, India Today’s 50 Most Powerful Young Indians and many more

Rating :
My rating for this book would be 8/10 in a market where Cheap reads are talk of the town, it is only natural that this book has not been in the Best Seller List, but for someone who has an inclination towards Quality Literary Harvests, this book is a must must read.

What Young India Wants Review

That was 2004. I am a vivid reader and normally prefers to read self development books. I was not a lover of novels and used to think they are only for girls. But then I happened to buy this book for a casual read and completed it in just 3 hours. Never stopped. Not even for a sip of water. I loved it. It actually connected to me as I was also an engineering student that time and could relate to few characters in that. Chetan Bhagat had caught the pulse of the readers, especially the youth. I continued reading his next books like most of his fans did. One Night at the call center had also attracted lot of youngsters including me. Buy Chetan Bhagat's 5 Books Combo at 35% Flat Discount. Free Home Delivery.
Five books and 2 movies based on them made Chetan Bhagat more popular. Though he is known for time pass/light read books, he has come up with a serious topic this time with his latest book 'What Young India Wants'. It sounds promising to see some meaningful stuff from him.
In his book 'What Young India Wants' he is asking us some serious questions and helps us in finding real answers for them.
- Does our vote make any difference? How?
- Why do lot of students commit suicide?
- How is the present eduction system helping the individuals and society?
- Why there is so much of corruption in India?
- Are all politicians corrupted? Are people corrupt or politicians?
- Why political parties do not work together to solve the social issues?
- When we love our India so much and call ourselves as patriots, what are the primary things we do for the welfare of our Nation?

What Young India Wants Review :

Its just superb the way the author Chetan Bhagat has discussed the issues the current India is facing and his thought process. It seems that he has read a lot and has seen so much in his life and is a rational person at heart. He has taken random issues you would find in daily news and has portrayed them in a beautiful manner. In page# 24 he says "what India wants now is a course of anti-biotics; crocin is just not working". It is really true. "MY GREAT INDIAN DREAM" will inspire everyone. I recommend to send this book every politician in our country - it works.

If you want to understand contemporary India, the problems the nation faces and the possible solutions for them this book is for you. Though this is not the best of the books written on India, this gives an overview with a good read. An awesome book for just 98 bucks.
